Library THING

I love it. Librarything is useful for keeping track of your home library, but also for suggesting books that are a similar genre to the books you like. Thank you, thank you! It also gives you reviews which are always interesting to read and suggestions. It is very useful for librarys and also their patrons, making it easy to access books that may be of interest to you. All you need to do is type in the book you've just read, and it will bring up other suggestions for you similar to that style. Great site! If you enjoy reading, you need to be part of it!!!!

When I did the search for bookmobile it found 720 sites for me. When i did an advanced search it found 1050 sites. A big difference.

I love the name of this site. It is fantastic for tagging sites that you feel are of interest. It then makes it easier for you to find them again. This has great potential for a research tool, as it makes sites so much easier for eveyone to access. It allows you to bring sites together for easy access, which could be very useful for a library and their patrons. I am looking forward to using it more. I need to spend more time on the site to realise it's full potential.

RSS blogline

Using RSS is a great way to keep tabs on things that interest you without having to constantly search for them or add them to your favourites. I choose some sites to do with books and recipes. This technology will work well as we can keep up to date with new books that are coming out and also to find out what is popular at the moment. It can also keep us up to date with current news from around the world. I joined a blog called Mommy's favorite children's books and am looking forward to watching it.

Social Networking 4

I can see this would be great to advertise what is happening in the library and also to let people know we are keeping up with technology. There are a lot of people who use this form of communication so it would be fantastic for answering questions and also getting suggestions from clients.
I could see that this could replace e-mailing and keep everyone in the loop.
It's a great way to bring like minded people together to share their interests.
It is also a very useful tool for internal use as well. Letting staff communicate with each other and keep up to date with the day to day happenings.
It is also a fun way to catch up with old friends, if they'll accept you as a friend that is. I love being able to go in and see photos of people that you have not seen for years. Love it!

Trying very hard to keep up with my blogs. I have learnt how to download my own photo into my blog and how to load a photo from flickr. Feeling a sense of achievment even if it is very amature.

This was great, however i do not feel confident to change something on a Wiki. I may feel different if i had something to add or knew that there was information that was incorrect. It is a little scary knowing that the information in Wikis (open) can be played with and changed. This is where trust comes in and we hope that everyones contribution is correct.
